Composite Type C – Bi-directional Bursting Disc
The Composite Type C – Bi-directional bursting disc provides dual-direction protection, making it an optimal solution for systems exposed to both overpressure and vacuum conditions. Built using precision laser-cut predetermined breaking points in stainless steel, nickel, Inconel, Hastelloy* or tantalum foils, this rupture disc delivers exact burst values—even at extremely low pressures starting from 20 mbar at 20 °C.
Whether the pressure rises above or drops below the permissible limits, the foil opens in a controlled, hinge-like, fragment-free pattern, ensuring safe discharge while protecting downstream equipment. A PTFE or PFA diaphragm is integrated between the slotted metal foils, providing a reliable seal and chemical resistance for operating temperatures up to 200 °C.
