Metal Diaphragms

Metal diaphragms function differently from bursting discs (rupture disks): instead of tearing, they deform in a precise and controlled manner when exposed to pressure. This makes them suitable for applications where pressure modulation or measurement is required rather than full-pressure release.

These diaphragms can be used to reduce pressure within valves to achieve a controlled flow rate, enabling stable and repeatable process conditions. Their predictable deformation characteristics also make them highly effective as measurement membranes in pressure sensors, where reliable signal accuracy is essential.

Applications

Metal diaphragms are commonly used across a range of industrial and instrumentation systems, including:

  • Pressure reduction in valves and regulators
  • Flow rate stabilisation in individual equipment components
  • Sensor membranes for pressure measurement instruments
  • Process control environments requiring precise deformation behaviour

With their engineered deformation characteristics and material resilience, our metal diaphragms provide consistent, predictable performance in both flow-control and measurement applications.
